Being an Expert Doesn't Happen Overnight

Updated: Jan 12

Being a real estate expert doesn't happen overnight. In fact, there are many things that need to be learned, even after joining a team, going through classroom training, and getting a license.

So, how does one become an expert?

According to expert realtors in Long Island, Kyle Kelly of the Island Wide Team and his good friend, Anthony Camardella from the "A" Team, showing agents how it's done is really important.

When agents get their license, they are already equipped with knowledge. They know the terms and some of the laws that they should be aware of. On the other hand, having classroom knowledge is not always tactical. In fact, some skills can only be learned by giving people real-life experiences.

Letting an agent go out on their own after getting certified is like letting someone who just got out of driver's education drive into a highway right away. You can't just let someone go behind the wheel without really knowing that they're able to drive properly. You can't just release them into the wild and let them do what they want to do. Not only that, you have to show them how it's done and walk them through the process, so they can also do the same for their clients when they assist them.

Of course, every agent was once a newbie, but that's not a reason to let them wander off without arming them with skills. By showing them how it's done and what the dos and don'ts are, your agents can start smarter and make better decisions when situations arise.

When we help our agents grow, we also help the whole team grow. When the team grows, we are also growing as a leader.
